Stefan Herrlich, Managing Partner
Stefan looks back on a long-standing international career in the telecommunications business. He joined the Siemens AG in Cologne, Germany in 1988 as a Sales Engineer for Enterprise Communications Systems. In the 1990s, he held various management positions in Sales and Marketing at Siemens AG in the United States, Hong Kong, China and London. Stefan then managed the global Telecommunications Solutions business for business customers in the Enterprise Networks unit at Siemens AG and was appointed General Manager of the Siemens Enterprise Communications joint venture. He joined the managing board of LANCOM Systems in 2012 and has been a co-owner since 2013. Stefan holds a Master’s degree in Telecommunications and Information Processing from the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne, Germany.
Ralf Koenzen, Founding Managing Partner
Ralf started his professional career in 1984 when he founded the Höffken & Koenzen Datenkommunikation GmbH in Mülheim an-der-Ruhr, Germany. Eight years later in 1992, he became department manager of ISDN development of ELSA GmbH in Aachen, a then leading manufacturer of video cards and PC peripherals in Germany. Three years after that, he took over the management of the Communications Systems business unit at ELSA. After the management buyout of ELSA in 2002, he founded LANCOM Systems. Since then, Ralf stands for the success story of LANCOM. His many years of experience and his expertise are instrumental in the strategic development and innovative capabilities of LANCOM. In 2014, Ralf was a finalist in the “Entrepreneur of the Year” award, gaining recognition as one of Germany’s most successful entrepreneurs. Ralf studied Computer Sciences at the University of Dortmund, Germany.
Jan Buis, Vice President Business Development
Jan draws on a wealth of experience in business development, international sales and product management. He started his professional career at Lucent Technologies in the Netherlands in the late 1990s and worked as Product Manager Optical Networking. After a couple of years, Jan joined the initial WLAN development organization. He held various positions in product management, marketing and sales until he joined LANCOM Systems in 2006 as Country Manager for Benelux and one year later he became Director International Sales. Since 2013, he has been fully focusing on Business Development, where in 2017, he became temporary responsible for the product lines WLAN and Switches, returning to Business Development early 2019. Jan holds an international MBA (Purdue University) as well as a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Science (Eindhoven University of Technology).
Christian Schallenberg, Member of the Management Board and CTO
Christian has extensive experience in Product Management. In the late 1990s, he started his career as Research Engineer at ELSA GmbH in Aachen, a then leading manufacturer of video cards and PC peripherals in Germany. In the early 2000s, he was appointed International Product Manager, DSL at ELSA before joining LANCOM Systems in 2002 as Executive Vice President, Product Marketing. Since 2010 he has been a member of the LANCOM Management Board and also is LANCOM´s CTO. Christian holds a MBA of the WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management and Kellogg School of Management with studies in Vallendar, Evanston and Hong Kong and a Masters degree in Communications Engineering from the RWTH in Aachen.
Martin Krebs, Director Product Management
Martin has top-level expertise in Computer Science. For many years he worked as Research Assistant for the Institute of Computer Science Communication and Distributed Systems at the RWTH Aachen University, one of nine Universities of Excellence in Germany. After receiving his PhD in Computer Science in 2010 from RWTH Aachen University, he joined LANCOM Systems as Product Manager for Wireless LAN. In 2013 he was appointed Director Product Management. As an expert in his field, Martin brings his profound technical know-how to this role and is dedicated to the further development of LANCOM´s high-quality product offering.
Tarik Erdemir, Vice President Router & VPN-Gateways
Tarik looks back on more than 20 years as an engineer in the IT and telecommunications industry. He received his PhD in engineering from the Technische Unversität Berlin in 1996 and started working as Managing Partner for Sales and Marketing of Onsoft Informationsysteme GmbH the same year. In 2000 he moved to a Managing Postion at ETH AG. In 2001 he became Product Marketing Manager at NEC Philips Unified Solutions GmbH until he was appointed Head of Network Solution & UCC Business Development at Controlware GmbH in 2007 where he stayed until 2012. From 2013 until 2015 he worked as Director Product Marketing & Presales at D-Link Germany GmbH. In 2015 he became Head of Professional Service Central Europe at Arkadin Germany GmbH and since January 2018 he has been working as Vice President Router & VPN-Gateways at LANCOM Systems.
Michael Müller, Vice President Wi-Fi & Switches
Michael Müller is responsible for the LANCOM product lines in the area of wireless and wired networks: Wi-Fi access points, WLAN controllers, hotspot solutions, and LAN switches. With an MBA and more than 20 years of experience in product management in the IT industry, he has held a number of leadership positions. Most recently, he was at D-Link as Head of Product Management for Central Europe. Previous positions were at Dell and Hewlett Packard/Compaq. Since January 2019 he has been working as Vice President Wi-Fi & Switches at LANCOM Systems.
Stefan Schäfer, Vice President Cloud
Stefan Schäfer looks back on more than 25 years of experience in various positions in the IT and telecommunications industry. Most recently, he spent five years marketing the cloud solutions at Huawei. Other positions included various management responsibilities at Deutsche Telekom in the area of cloud services and mobile communications, both in Germany and abroad. In his position as Vice President Cloud, Stefan Schäfer is responsible for the strategic development of the LANCOM Management Cloud. This is the basis for the LANCOM range of solutions in cloud-managed networks and enterprise SD-WAN, which enables the highly automated configuration and management of all network components in the area of WAN, LAN, WLAN and firewalls.
